JUST SNAPPED @littleswallowchinadoll

Londoners in Liverpool

I'm about a month behind in blogs thanks to all my swanning around on holiday, and I can assure you, I regret NOTHING. Except maybe not eating more gelato. (But can you ever really eat enough gelato? I doubt it.)

One of the perks of working in food is occasionally getting to go to food festivals. And when they're in new cities you haven't yet visited, and you can drag your mates along with you for a weekend away, all the better.

Mmm...frogs legs... These little guys were much meatier than ones I'd had in the past. Can't say I really loved the fishy chicken this time.

But THESE bad boys. Holy candied bacon. These were so good we headed to the real deal the next day. More on that next post.

After pigging out, we headed off to explore Liverpool.

Before getting out of the cold and settling in at Berry & Rye - a hot tip off from The Manchester Foodies who I ran into at the food fest, and again while sipping our cocktails. If you want a cosy speakeasy with super helpful staff and killer cocktails on offer, this is definitely the place for you.

Clearly not in thinking mode, and thus, sans camera, after a quick freshen up we headed out for dinner at Salt House Tapas before hitting the town and hopping our way down to Alma de Cuba. Good, clean, unpretentious fun in an almost Vegas style club setting. We need more places like that in London, methinks.

Of course the weekend wouldn't be the weekend without brunch, so we rolled out of bed Sunday morning and headed to Leaf

Before kicking on with the rest of our city explorations.

Sadly, our most excellent weekend ended with a 2 hour train trip turning into a 4.5 hour train trip. Good thing we were all carrying serious food babies or there really would have been hell to pay. Never cross a hungry lady. Ever.
