Flesh & Buns, Covent Garden

I have no head for sciences. Any of them. Many a time has the CG looked despairingly at me after attempting to explain the most basic of principles. I still don't understand how mirrors work. Or the eye.

So photography is hard for me. Especially when the CG lets me loose with a 50mm fixed lens, because frankly, it means nothing to me except that it was far more difficult to take pics with. Oh well. Just another reason why I need a personal photographer to accompany me everywhere.

Bloggers all over London have been raving about Flesh & Buns, so of course we had to go check out what all the fuss was about.

I fell in love with hirata buns at Momofuku in NYC so I was pretty damn excited for the main course.

Steaming buns are served up to your table for you to stuff full of whatever meat takes your fancy.

Between the six of us we managed to sample a few of the delicious fillings on offer and opinion was definitely divided over the favourite. The sirloin steak and braised pork belly were my picks of the lot.

Despite being stuffed full, we had to have the famous S'mores. And despite refusing to go to anywhere that requires me to cook my own steak, I absolutely loved getting to toast my own marshmallow.

Absolutely the best s'mores I've ever had. Drool-worthy.

  1. I wish I had had the toasted marshmallows! Great meal wasn't it? The soft shell crab was my favourite by a mile - amazing!
