JUST SNAPPED @littleswallowchinadoll

Afternoon tea and the Shard

What a week. More Amsterdam travel and long work days, with a bout of cold to boot. But come Saturday, boy, was I spoilt by the ever thoughtful Miss J

Flowers arrived - "just because".

Then the CG and I headed on our long awaited wedding present from Miss J - afternoon tea and a trip up the Shard (something for me and something for him, geddit?)

All afternoon tea should come with cheese.

The CG has been obsessed with the Shard for way too long. He even dragged me to the rubbish laser show opening *yawn*. But I have to admit - the view from the 73rd floor was pretty damn impressive. Two super quick, seamless elevator rides and you're at the top of the tallest building in Western Europe.

My favourite part of being up top was watching the trains running in and out of London Bridge. Geeky, I know.

It was a wonderful wedding present - and a nice little "we've been married for more than six months" treat between both our birthdays. We are very, very lucky to have such great friends in our lives.

  1. Wow, I've got to say, The Shard is a pretty impressive building! All that food looks so tasty that even though I just had supper two hours ago it still makes me hungry!
I wonder how The Shard compares with our CN Tower here in Canada... the view from that tower is incredible, something you have to see to really understand. If only they would clean all the scratches off the glass floor so you can actually see through it!
