Re-Rewind (the crowd say Bo Selecta)

WARNING: whinge ahead.

Work is slowly stealing every waking minute of my day and preventing me from (a) blogging, (b) long and leisurely meals, (c) keeping up to date with friends, (d) feeling the photography vibe, and (e) sleeping well. 

Rant over.

So here's what I've been up to recently, through the grainy lens of my smashed iPhone (another hazard of working when you shouldn't be).

We went to Clockjack Oven which specialises in rotisserie chicken. I've heard lukewarm things about it, but I gotta say - this is some of the best rotisserie chicken I've had in the UK. Sure, it's still not a patch on the charcoal chicken that lives in my memory from Oz, but I didn't even take a picture of the food. What does that tell you about my greedy little, sticky hands?

I had a lovely dinner at Bluebird restaurant with my workmates, where for almost the first time in history I couldn't eat half my main. Apparently stress sometimes does affect your appetite.

We went to hang with family & friends in Essex for the weekend and had the most fun night out we've had in ages. Lots of dancing, love you's, and a wreck of a CG that I got to tease mercilessly with stories of his ridiculous behaviour the morning after.

I went back to both Bone Daddies and Tonkotsu, and I'm now convinced that Tonkotsu's broth is the best to my taste of the London ramen joints. They've got a new noodle machine, so they're making them on site now - they're a teeny weeny bit too chewy but I think they'll iron out the kinks soon.

I converted the CG to fat, fluffy pancakes (because let's face it, British pancakes are actually crepes - the only people who are in denial about that due to hostile country relations with the French, seem to be the British).

I went to Amsterdam for work (again) and spent Valentine's Day with 8 other men, had a stroll through the red light district, lost my voice, and had the world's best steak tartare again at Tales & Spirits, which has to be one of my favourite little bar-restaurants ever (but if you're going, make sure you're not in a hurry - fast service is not an option).
