JUST SNAPPED @littleswallowchinadoll

Blame it on the weather

I don't like being ill. I don't have the patience for it, and I despise missing out on things because I don't feel up to it. Needless to say, this week has really tried my patience. I was even forced to give my theater tickets away because the thought of having to sit upright for a couple of hours was too daunting. That's how bad it was.

I'm blaming this spate on the weather. Staying up until the wee hours on a Monday night catching up with a visiting friend probably didn't help either, but I feel the weather has a lot to answer for.

Last Sunday the CG, Miss O and I decided to pretend it was summer and go for a picnic while watching the Wimbledon men's final. It turned out to be a slightly involved process, of huddling while the rain tipped down, stripping our layers off while the scorching sun beat down, and roasting in the greenhouse we were creating under our umbrellas when the rain and sun appeared simultaneously.

And then it rained. It bucketed down for days. By the time it finally let up on Thursday, I could barely think through the fog of nausea and fever. Mind you, by the time I'd regained my senses later that day, it was thundering down again.

Cranky, thy name is Christine.

Feeling better, we headed up to Essex this weekend to catch up with the CG's family for his sister's birthday celebrations. There really is no better cure for your ails than catching up with loved ones, getting your nails done for mates rates, Thai takeaway, trying angel delight for the first time (do NOT go for butterscotch flavour), jaegerbombs, and dancing in a gay bar.

And guess what? The sun actually came out today.
